Cantera makes a wonderful flooring material when used in the correct application. Used as pool decking it easily absorbs water and reflects heat even better than cool decking and by nature is no-slip. Since cantera is porous it will eventually take on a natural weathered look unless it is sealed. Like any other tile materials (such as porcelain, travertine, granite and marble) it can crack when the subsurface moves or settles. This is perfectly normal and should be anticipated.
Cantera tiles can easily be cut on site for difficult installations and can be mixed with other types of tiles such as Saltillo and travertine for truly creative and individual applications. Your imagination is the only limit.
